New Arrivals at Gap + Madewell — and How to Style.

By: Jen Shoop

Gap and Madewell have some fantastic new arrivals that are sure to become summer staples. I am especially excited about these high-waisted linen shorts (seen above!), which are giving me major safari vacation vibes and would look so sleek with a black tank and these sandals. And this gauze top is currently marked way down and comes in a range of great colors — such an easy piece to pair with shorts or denim.

I also love (!) the white overalls from Madewell and shortalls from Gap for the spring season, and these white denim shorts remind me of that Agolde pair so many of us bought.

  1. I love the look of those linen shorts! Chiccc.

I bought those Madewell white overalls in 2019 and wore them into the ground — I only got rid of them in late 2021 when one of the buckles broke and it was irreparable. I already miss them in my spring wardrobe and think it’s time to repurchase!

    1. I have a pair of white overalls and they’ve been a staple for years, too! Definite re-buy territory.

  2. I’ve got my eye on a pair of Gap jean shorts to replace another Gap pair that are starting to look a bit *too* distressed.

But can we talk about the occasional bizarre styling at madewell?? Is it some kind of April fools joke? Or are they just like “look at me, I’m jcrew’s playful cheeky little sister, I wear my purse on my head sometimes! Isn’t it charming??” Or are they just waiting for someone to call them out for it? I find it distracting!

    1. Haha!! I agree, the styling can be off the wall. There are also a lot of strange layering decisions. Can’t decide if it’s a goal to showcase as many products in one pic as possible and they’re taking too much license?

      xx
