My Latest Amazon Finds.

I mentioned this on Instagram a few days ago (if you’re inclined, I often post fashion finds and daily snapshots in my stories there!), but this $33 blue and white floral dress was restocked last week in most sizes. It is easily one of my most-worn dresses! (You can see me in it here and a few of my other most-worn dresses here.) After posting, I received a few messages from Magpies saying how much you love that particular dress, too — it is so easy and lightweight, and it never fails to draw a compliment!

Anyhow, a couple of other recent finds on Amazon…

01. // These $13 silicone bibs come in the greatest colors and prints. I have a few of these for Hill and love them.

02. // I shared this $42 eyelet dress in a different pattern a few weeks ago but it comes in several fantastic colors and has pearl buttons down the front! I love keeping a dress like this in my closet for a last-minute and impromptu special occasion — something as simple as opening a bottle of champagne at home or as fun as grabbing dinner out at the last minute! It’s fun to have a little something special to pull out for an unexpected moment like that.

03. // Freedom Moses sandals — I have been seeing these on tons of stylish women in Manhattan.

04. // I have one of these mini Fjallraven backpacks for my children — it’s great for stowing their toys and books and distractions for little car trips or afternoon adventures. The faded mint color is so good!

05. // I really need help in my undereye area. I have the darkest circles! I have not yet found an eye cream/product that truly brightens the area and usually lean on concealer. Could this be worth a test? I have seen this product touted to the high heavens.

06. // I have been wearing this pearl mask chain daily. Fun little add-on accessory to add interest and polish to any outfit, and highly functional now that mask-wearing mandates are relaxing and I am more likely to take my mask on and off and on and off again and again while outside.

07. // On-trend $45 top in the greatest khaki color. (I’m so drawn to this color at the moment! Remember this $20 H&M steal?!) Imagine pairing that top with this maxi skirt!

08. // These $13 sunglasses are breaking the internet. I am seeing them everywhere, and on very chic ladies!

09. // Truffle popcorn. Perfect happy hour accompaniment.

10. // Megan Stokes claims she prefers this under-$15 brush to her Mason Pearson! Intrigued.

11. // The absolute best sticker books for little ones. Great quality stickers, great detail. Mini has loved these consistently for the last two years.

12. // Ultra-soft, well-reviewed facial cotton.

  1. I have been using those Freedom Moses slides as “house shoes” for a couple months now, and I have to say, I love them! At first I wasn’t sold since I’m a Birks devotee, but they have held up SO much better than the EVA Birks, which wear down easily (and have even ripped with past pairs I’ve had!) They’re also so easy to wipe/hose down to clean. Big fan — I just bought another pair for an upcoming Miami trip! Saks has really good prints, too, I’ve found.

    1. I’m officially intrigued. I think they might be the perfect shoe for running out the door / running around with the kids especially when at the splash pad…

    2. Yes! I’m going to be the devil on your shoulder for this one … they’re definitely worth it. I also think you might be able to snag a little coupon for your first purchase if you order direct from them — 10%, if I recall correctly, which isn’t a lot but brings the total under $50, and I think they may offer free shipping, too, iirc.

I think I read another reader’s comment recently (during yesterday’s comment binge!) about the faux buckles, which made me smile because that’s what had me on the fence for a long time — I first noticed them when my super-cool streetwear-fanatic downstairs neighbor had a pair last summer, but I wasn’t sure about the faux buckle situation. Clearly I got over it this summer and I’m glad I did! Haha!

  2. Sadly, I have also always had the worst dark circles! Even now, in my early twenties, they’re getting worse and worse. My uncle is a plastic surgeon and his wife is an esthetician, so I have long been pestering them about this issue and can go on for days about it. From what I have learned from them, dark circles are a combination of genetics, fair skin, and the thinness of the area. A family member of mine had the fat pad-type of dark circles and had the surgery, and their recovery was brief and they look great! However, mine are just hollow right now, so the solutions I’ve found are only on that front. They recommend eye creams with hyaluronic acid and/or caffeine, but the best fix for circles like mine is filler. I haven’t taken the plunge yet, but I’m sure I will soon. They directed me to Dermalogica’s Stress Positive Eye Lift and L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Hydra-Nutrition Manuka Honey Eye Gel. I like both but slightly prefer Dermalogica!

    1. Thank you for this intel! I really appreciate the Dermalogica rec in particular!! Thank you!

  3. Hi Jen! Speaking of the under eye area, I recently tried the ole henrikson banana bright eye cream after reading about it on your blog a few times… I love everything about it except that I do wish it came in an airtight tube. I’ve used the dennis gross vitamin C eye cream for years, and it is similar to the ole henrikson but comes in an airtight tube if you’re interested.

I’m currently preparing for Memorial Day sales in anticipation of moving to a new apartment on the opposite of the country in June. I’ll need to re-purchase most home items and am excited to try many of your recommendations, particularly the boll and branch sheets, feather friends comforter, and the moccamaster coffee maker. Given you’re preparing for a move, l wanted to ask if you have mattress recommendations. I always appreciate your well-researched, honest recommendations!

    1. Hi! You are so kind – thanks for the tip on Dennis Gross, too! Have a little list of beauty products to try in the future and will add this as an option.

I’m SO excited for you to try all of these items — you are going to LOVE those three in particular. The B&B sheets are just such a lovely surprise. They are somehow both cool/crisp and soft AND they launder so well. Just love.

For mattress — shoot, I don’t have a brand or style I can speak enthusiastically about. We bought our mattress in Chicago like ten years ago and are probably due for a renew, but there are no tags on the mattress and I’ve totally forgotten what it was! All I can say is that we splurged on it — it’s sort of a memory foam material — and it’s been worth every penny. I would go to a mattress shop and try out a bunch and be willing to invest. We are probably going to need to buy some new mattresses and beds for our new home and will for sure share what we find along the way!!

  4. Over the course of the pandemic I bought at least 8 different brands of under eye concealers. From hi to low and in between. I’ve realized that the darkness under my eyes is due to the fact that I have fat pads under my eyes which appear worse than it is. The only solution is surgery but I’m not at that point. Has anyone ever tried fillers? There is a filler I’ve read about called tear trough. It fills in the sunken pocket due to age and losing elasticity under the eye. I feel like it got worse over stay at home order. The best concealer I tried is from It cosmetics. I like the texture and you only need a small amount. I’ll give the eye balm you mentioned a try sounds interesting!

    1. Hi Carleen! Yes, let me know what you think and please keep us all posted on any other products/treatments you try!!! I know a lot of us are in the same boat…

      xx
