Sugar Paper for Target.

By: Jen Shoop

Oh my gosh, I know it is way too early to be thinking about Christmas, but Target just released the most gorgeous gift wrap collection with Sugar Paper–and a lot of it is in my signature dusty Magpie blue! I am swooning over their blue velvet ribbon, scalloped tissue paper, striped wrapping paper, and stunning gift boxes (also great for keepsake storage / closet organization!). I mean WOW — these round boxes, too!

P.S. More great recent Target finds.

P.P.S. I recently ordered this Target shirt for running and this long-sleeved striped tee ($5.50!!!) for micro.

  1. Oooh I always stock up on Sugar Paper for Christmas, and I love that so much of it isn’t overtly “Christmas-y”, and can be used throughout the year! I for one, don’t think it’s too early to be thinking about Christmas in this insane time… it’s so fun and escapist to daydream about it. My fantasy Christmas item is the Ostheimer wooden nativity. Sigh! xo

    1. Exactly! Could definitely be used for other occasions/holidays. And that wooden nativity set would be gorgeous!

    1. Of course! The other brand I was trying to think of that does custom needlepoint pieces is Hunt & Hope:

The elegant blogger Bradley of Luella & June showed hers on Instagram last holiday season and WOW. They were stunning. I am sure they cost a pretty penny but truly heirloom material.

  2. OMG, that velvet ribbon! Instant add to cart. I love all of these gift accoutrements! These would also be perfect for baby gifts (girl or boy!)

  3. Speaking of Christmas any suggestion of a Christmas stocking for a new grandson? One that will stay with him his whole growing years? My grandma made mine and it is now 56 years old and in perfect condition! Thank you

    1. Hi Laura! I have these Pottery Barn channel velvet ones — one for each family member, plus Tilly our dog 🙂

What I like about them is that they seem to be carried by Pottery Barn every single year (or at least they have for the last decade) so I’ve been able to add one every time we welcome a new addition to the family and our mantel looks very coordinated. I also REALLY like that they are machine-washable, which has come in handy with little fingers…

That said, I love the look of needlepoint stockings, especially customized with a name and a specific interest…LL Bean makes some cute ones that are well-priced and get outstanding reviews:

I am also trying to track down this place that does incredible custom needlepoint stockings — will report back when I can remember where I saw it!

    2. Chiming in to say that I have the LL Bean version of the velvet stockings — no channel quilting, but they are generously sized and have been carried for years, which has been helpful (no babies added, but we did get some made for my partner’s parents when they spent Christmas with us, and they match perfectly) They’ve held up really well, too, like Jen says about the PB ones!
