Spring in My Step

By: Jen Shoop

***Spoiler alert: This post ends with a FAB giveaway for an amazing necklace…soooo make sure you read to the very end.***

Oh, hello, April.  So, so happy to see you and your attendant warmer weather.  It was nearly 60 degrees when Mr. Magpie and I landed in Chicago yesterday after spending the weekend with our families in D.C.  It’s making me want to buy a lot of warm-weather things in my favorite pastel-meets-bright palette (read: lots of lavender with accents in chartreuse and coral).  For starters, I love these eyelet shorts ($69) with this blousy top (DVF, $132) and this chunky necklace ($333):

Crew.  I’ve been dreaming about it since I first saw it.  Must buy.)  I loveeee these Charlotte Olympia tootsies ($975) with this look:

Or, this pretty printed coral number ($275) would look amazing offset by a lilac-pommed scarf ($110):

  1. This necklace would be great with so many things, but I would wear it with a cute orange eyelet dress I purchased at old navy today! This would be perfect for a wedding I’m attending in early May!

  2. That necklace is gorgeous! I think it would be perfect to brighten up a simple tee or blouse paired with a cute pair of JCrew shorts and some wedges for my trip to Hawaii this summer!!

P.S. I also liked her pinterest page 🙂

  3. Daphne (the other response had typos)

That necklace is awesome! Im going to Greece in a few weeks and that would make evey sundress pop!!

  4. That necklace is awesome! I going to theediteanean in a few weeks and that would’ make evey sundress pop!!

  5. That necklace is seriously perfection! The possibilities are pretty much endless, but at work, I’d first pair the gorgeous necklace with a white eyelet shell and a high waist coral pencil skirt. On the weekend, I’d rock the necklace with my new favorite strawberry ankle jeans and a simple lived in white tee, and by night I’d use it to add the perfect pop of color to a white cut-out dress and some silver sandals. I’m following Dawn on FB and on Pinterest 😀 Fingers crossed!

  6. Gorgeous necklace!!! I’d wear it with this silk strapless dress I got from Warehouse via Asos. (It’s one of the ones Kate Middleton supposedly wore on her honeymoon.)

  7. I love that necklace!! I would wear it with a chambray button up, my favorite blue and white striped shorts, and my coral peep toe flats. I’d probably throw on some stud earrings and wear my hair braided somehow to keep it off my face.

  8. Gorgeous! I would wear this with a blue peplum top, coral colored jeans, and white or metallic sandals/flats. I would also compliment the necklace by wearing simple Gorjana gold studs and a few small gold bangles.

  9. I would wear it with a vintage light pink shift dress. It would be perfect for all the spring and summer weddings I have coming up!

  10. OMG that necklace…. (I’ve got some major googly eyes over here!).

I’d pair that necklace with my new favorite mint green skinny jeans, a chambray button up, and some coral flats!

I love mint green and coral together so that necklace would be the perfect pop of color with my new jeans!

  11. I have a great cream colored short sheath dress with lace inlets in the back but completely plain in the front so it needs a statement necklace. i’d pair the dres with some killer heels in one of the shades of the necklace. A way to brighten up the dress and play up the back.

  12. ooh I would keep it simple… white skinny jeans and a crips navy t-shirt. nothing better. probably some charming bright coral sandals to tie it all together! happy spring!

  13. There’s little in my spring/summer maternity wardrobe that this necklace wouldn’t looking a-mazing with, but I’d most like to pair it with this eyelet sundress in white http://m.oldnavy.gap.com/product.html?dn=op387932012&dv=1&shopid=1&pdn=oc48687 (or the orange pictured, because I bought both!) – so perfect to wear next week on my babymoon in Puerto Rico! It’s also a great piece to jazz up a simple ribbed tank or tee with white skinnies; maternity clothes are so blah, so statement jewelry is a must!

  14. I would wear the necklace with my new tibi white/black peplum top, some simple black skinnies and a coordinating pair of shoes. LOVE the necklace! Happy Spring!

  15. I recently got engaged, and would LOVE to wear that necklace with a simple white shift for bridal showers, or with a breton stripe tee, skinnies, and jack rogers for everyday!

  16. Happy Spring!! I would wear that necklace with a white or cream colored layer T-shirt underneath a very light-weight tan leather motorcycle-ish jacket (for spring – are those still in style) with dark wash skinny jeans and flat gladiator sandals. Would have to get my annual spring pedicure first though!

  17. That necklace would “make” my white Carmen Marc Volvo dress! OR I have a plain coral silk number that would be perfect!
