Spot On

Polka dots are permanently in vogue — they’re as trendy today as they were in the ’50s. A quick scan of the eye-catching snaps below should affirm this rather bold claim:

Yes, yes, yes, and yes. The eterna-chicness of the polka dot may explain why I’ve already run multiple dot-centric posts on this bloggeroo {see here and here} — it’s the trend that just keeps living. Loving, for example, this sleeveless blouse (Marc by Marc Jacobs, $230, Shopbop) tucked into a full cream skirt ($248, Steven Alan) and accented with a pair of vintage Chanel studs ($940, StyleBop):

I like this with some slightly funky footwear, to sort of fuss it up a bit. This chunky Lanvin sandal caught my eye as just the sort of thing that a chic fashion editor would fold into her classic-leaning wardrobe ($1,250, The Webster):

I’d finish with gold heels (Rupert Sanderson, on sale for $248, Boutique1) and a petaled clutch ($89, Sondra Roberts). I like the way the clutch echoes the frills on the neckline of this dress.
