I’m terrified of how it was styled in the photo on the site (AHHH those white orthopedic sandal things will haunt my nightmares), but look at it with fresh eyes above.  Very elegant, almost Emilia Wickstead-ish, eh?  I’d wear it with black suede heels (Jimmy Choo, $695 — I own this pair of suede J. Crew Elsies and wear them with errrrrythang) and a colorblocked purse (Milly, on sale for $189):

Then, all you need are some fun tassels (KJL, $150 — or invest in these classic Oscar de la Rentas for $345) and a great red lip (I swear by Nars — $27):

Other affordable treats I’ve been adding to my fall shopping list:

+This fringed, loopy sweater (on sale for $59) looks much more avant-garde and high-end than it costs.  Actually reminds me a lot of Isabel Marant or Pucci.  I like it with skinny black jeans and OTK boots.

+This boho smocked dress ($68) is precious.  I imagine wearing it with little suede booties while out running errands.

+This lace-trim babydoll ($88) is adorable for the girly-girl.

+This printed, bow-front mini ($98) is very of-the-moment.  For the ultimate 70s glam look, pair with this curly fur vest ($99).

+Speaking of vests, you know how I blabbed on about the long waistcoat here?  Check out this affordable style at Zara ($99) in season-appropriate burgundy.

+This sleeveless sweater in a funky aztec print is so freaking chic ($89).  Who knew Ann Taylor Loft had it in them?!

+Love these snuggly thermal leggings for winter nights at home — especially in the wild leopard print style ($42).

+I picked up this D’Orsay flat from Madewell a few weeks ago (on sale for $98) and they are the perfect work shoe.  They add just a little shine/flavor to your look – but they’re polished and work-ready at the same time.  And metallics go with everything.
