Mira, Mira on the Wall

By: Jen Shoop

Do you follow me on  Pinterest?  If you do, you’ll have noticed a slight grush (girl + crush) on Russian fashion plate Miroslava Duma.  She’s wildly eclectic and, despite her diminutive size, pulls off patterns and haute shapes with ease.  Check out her avant garde fashion blog, Buro 24/7 — LOTS of eye candy.

Also, I love her hair.  Kind of makes me want a slick, even-length bob.  But I think you need her bananas bone structure to pull it off with style.  Anyway, I’ve been trying to figure out what makes Miro tick in the fashion sense, but it’s a challenge — the sampling of looks above demonstrates her versatility: from ladylike cape and croc purse to playful floral jumper, and you should see some of her even wilder creations.  But I am going to put together some Mira-esque looks for my own personal enjoyment…first, we gotta begin with something bold, textured, and interestingly shaped: a pink cocoon coat (Gianluca Capannolo, $1,489) will do the trick.  She’d wear it with a huge necklace (Shourouk, $1,100 — and PSST: I received a special coupon code from the kind folks at Charm + Chain for 25% off EVERYTHING now through December 14th with code: CC25OFF!  Get shopping!):

Finish with some colorblocked heels (Brian Atwood, $915)

Another look very much up her alley?  This voluminous sweater-top-dress ($36) with an oversized medallion necklace ($635), a pair of lighter-washed, slightly-distressed jeans, and some funky heels (on SUPER sale for $88):

Finish with the McQueen Demanta clutch ($850) — you need something big and oversized to finish the look.

I can also very much see her in this Proenza Schouler number (loving the quilted collar detail — $1,150), with a statement necklace ($367) worn under the collar ($black tights and some ankle-breaking booties (Alaia, $1,878):

I can also envision her in this darling Marni dress ($1,000) with this BANANAS leopard necklace (I just MUST own it — $138):

A slam dunk with these platformed velvet and satin tootsies (Tory Burch, $425) with this limited edition DVF “sun circle clutch” (a piece of art — $995):

In closing, for our gifting guru item of the day…

…and though it’s a tad above our $50 goal, how Miroslava Duma is this Shourouk-esque necklace ($78)?!  Imagine it tucked neatly under the collar of a printed dress.  Ba.na.nas.

  1. Have you ever shopped on SHE INSIDER? I’m trying to figure out if its a good/reliable company to order form or not. Thanks so much!

  2. I love her messy short bob in the first photo. Makes me really want to chop off all my hair and try to achieve that look.
