Making Me Blush

By: Jen Shoop

Happy Valentine’s Day, my little chic peas!  What do you have planned for this love-centric day?!  I, for one, plan to glam it up in a pink/red get-up, and today, I’m feeling inspired by the softness of blush pink.

Bof.  How chic?!  Channeling the oh-so-lovely vibes above, I’m thinking of pairing this lovely Tucker blouse ($265, Net-A-Porter) with a silk flower necklace (Lanvin, $571, Farfetch), skinnies, and some chunky blush footwear ($77, Zappos — I’ve been coveting this pair since I saw them on Ashley of Ring My Bell):

Round it all out with a similarly hued bag (how bomb is this style?! — $76, TopShop):

And — just for fun?  How darling is this enameled giraffe bangle ($98, J. Crew):

For self, try this rosy highlighter ($36, Chantecaille), a pale pink manicure (I wore this shade on my wedding day! — Essie’s “Ballet Slippers,” $7.90, Apothica), and Tocca’s Cleopatra (I carry this in my bag — and its available in a rollerball set with a few other scents — $48, Sephora):

Store your goodies in this pretty reversible clutch ($199, Hammocks and High Tea):

Or, just a pop will do — consider pairing a blush necklace ($65, Roberta Roller Rabbit) with a luscious tangerine color in the form of this shift dress (Tibi, $395, Net-A-Porter):

Finish with these nude mesh pumps ($595, Giuseppe Zanotti) and a pouchlette ($108, Jessica Jensen):

This eye-catching, oversized Erickson Beamon ring ($410, Net-A-Porter) is the perfect addition —

As an alternative, blush and black is a classic partnership.  Try this pastel washed silk blouse (Kain, $155, Net-A-Porter) with a black ribbon statement necklace ($345, Les Pommettes) and a sassy black leather skirt ($160, Net-A-Porter), black tights, and black tootsies ($96, TopShop):

I’d finish with a blush chain-handle bag ($26, ASOS) — or, if you can afford it, spring for the Marc Jacobs Single ($575), which looks remarkably similar:

Looking for other blush accessories?  How sweet is this sequinned rose scarf ($183, Farfetch), or this pair of glitter-toed flats ($98, Endless)?

As for jewelry, loving these druzy stud earrings (Dara Ettinger, $125, Charm & Chain), this simple rose gold wrap bangle ($140, Les Pommettes), and this simple heart charm necklace ($50, By Boe):

And PSST.  If you like the overall aesthetic of the pieces above, you’ll love the styles from Alexis Bittar, which feature lots of sparkle and rose gold.  For a dressed-down occasion, try this blush blazer (I wear mine all.the.time — $425, Reiss — although 3.1 Phillip Lim has a fab variation that costs a bit more…and while you’re at it, check out the entire collection, which is jam-packed with other soft blush separates!) with statement earrings (Suzanna Dai, $150, Charm & Chain), a polka dot blouse ($87, John Lewis), black skinnies, and some peek-a-boo Rupert Sandersons (how sexy are these bad boys?! — $675, Rupert Sanderson):

The dream bag for this look?  Valentino’s Rock Stud ($2,560, Forward Forward) — O.M.G.  This bag means business.

Happy Valentine’s Day, loves!
