Latest + Greatest.

By: Jen Shoop

Aloha!  I did a yoga class for the first time a few days ago, came home bragging to my husband that it was “basically slow stretching,” and then was immobilized for two days.  I really need to commit to an exercise regimen.  Maybe these leggings will help?  (#Normcore, #basic, I love it.)  But instead.  Today.  I will just share the things I wanna buy.

Pick1

I’ve been very into minimalist-looking leather backpacks this season — see below for inspo.  This simple leather backpack nails the look, is on sale for $89, and comes in fab colors.  Which one?!?

Pick2

There was a time in my life where I literally bought a new Alice + Olivia dress for every occasion.  But then I felt that the line went a little off for the last year — a lot of dresses that either felt too snooze-y (yawn, seen that a million times) or too over-the-top.  I was excited to see a lot of the latest additions are back on point.  This shirtdress ($495), for example, is incredible.  It looks to me like it might be a Louis Vuitton or Oscar.  Couture-esque.

Pick3

This bar cart ($129) is prettttty chic.

Pick4

OK, what’s the verdict on wool fedoras?  Are they #basic or trying too hard?  I dunno.  I’ve been sorta anti-fedora for awhile but then, guys, I swear, I saw the chicest little lady getting her nails done the other day wearing one and haven’t been able to put it out of my mind.  I think I might give the look a try with this $75 style from J. Crew in the burgundy.  I have a vision of wearing it with a striped midi dress ($146) and booties ($495).

Inspired by these looks….

I’m loving the idea of pairing these chunky turtleneck dresses ($49) with sneakers.  I own gray Supergas ($89) that would be a great option, but these fur-topped Michael Kors babies ($175) would be epic.

Pick6

This jungle-print scarf ($59) is SO lovely.  I have a silk scarf that I love to tie around the handle of my tote (like this — very Hermes, ya know?!) or around my neck with a silky blouse.  This would make such a perfect addition, and the colors are amazing.

Pick7

I don’t care what this candle ($40) smells like — it is perfect eye candy for a well-styled coffee table or shelf.  I like it with brass accents — maybe even a little marble-on-marble love with this brass-handled tray ($250 — or get the look for way less with this $20 Target steal).

Pick8

GUYS — I’ve been sort of loving all these 90s throwback looks, but this slip dress from Equipment (on sale for $199) is just making my day.  Stunning.  Pair with my favorite sandal heel on earth (Alexandre Birman, $595) and, speaking of marble!, this Balenciaga clutch ($1,255).  Although how fun is this Milly box clutch?!

Pick9

Isn’t this foil monogrammed stationery STUNNING ($92 for 50)?!

Speaking of monograms, consider these lovely monogrammed linen napkins ($7 each) or these hostess towels ($32) as a hostess gift during the upcoming holiday season.  I’ve also given this monogrammed pillow to a few brides-to-be (stunning) and pretty much love everything in the Southern Linens Etsy store.

Pick10

I’m sure you’ve noticed all the pins and patches all over the street style blogs over the last few seasons…

I like the idea of getting the look with this cheeky/fun button-down ($115 — more sizes here):

Or affix some of these Georgia Perry pins ($15 each) to the lapels of your coat or the pocket of your denim button down:

  1. Love those Birman heels so much- thinking of pulling the trigger! Also, love that marble clutch! Would love your take on the latest and greatest clutches these days! I am in the market for a new do it all clutch- and willing to shell out- but for once i’m at a loss. nothing really calling my name!
anything on your radar? obsessed with the bottega knot clutch but seems SO expensive. but maybe worth it?

    1. Hi Daphne!! Ooo, fun purchase! I LOVE the Bottega Veneta clutches — heirloom-worthy!! — and I also think a classic YSL clutch would be a fab wardrobe staple. For something a little louder, a personalized Edie Parker clutch would be incredible. Not quite a clutch, but the box bags from Mark Cross are THE look right now, and totally transform a look into a modern Grace Kelly situation. Epic!
