Knit Happens.

By: Jen Shoop
  • We got our first snow of the year over the weekend here in Chicago, and Mr. Magpie and I curled up inside with takeout, movies, a fire, and wine for the better part of it.  (I was wearing my new Gap longjohn leggings for most of it — they are the coziest, cutest things ever.)  I also dug out all of my sweaters for the season and found myself prowling the web for some new additions, inspired by these chic peas:

Gorgine.  My top picks at the moment:

+I love the slouchy, modern fit of this gray rollneck sweater ($65).  I snagged a similar one from Zara last year and have worn it incessantly.

+A classic ivory cable-knit ($80) makes my heart sing — limitless styling possibilities;

+Guys!  How amazing is this fair-isle knit cape sweater?!  OMG, need ($98) — channel Mira Duma above with it!;

+This embellished sweater is errrything ($45) — looks Isabel Marant-ish;

+Love the colors in this fair-isle sweater ($98);

+The collar embellishment on this lovely ($148) is perfect for the holiday season — throw on some lighter-wash jeans and a pair of heels and you’re ready to make the rounds;

+This marled knit caught my eye ($59) — perfect with skinny black jeans (I really really want a pair of Le Frames — people go nuts over this pair) and some fierce booties (my sister, best friend, and I all own the Rag + Bone Kinsey, and they don’t QUIT);

What’s your top pick??

P.S.  This chunky sweater dress ($81) is calling my name.
