LE HOLIDAY SHOP
I take it as no small compliment that my sister (mother to two small boys) recently told me: “You guys give the best gifts.” Mr. Magpie and I love strategizing about toys — and we do always give toys rather than sweaters or coats — and here, I have shared my absolute favorite toys to give small children (under three).
My gift guide for the men in our lives. I have purchased almost all of these items for Mr. Magpie, a brother/brother-in-law, or my father, and to rave reviews. And trust me, my men are picky.
Though I still strongly endorse my holiday 2017 gift guide (<<I have given every single item on this list away as a gift!) and my more recent gift guide for girlfriends, I’m presenting a couple of additions this year — and at the risk of making for a very unsurprising holiday for my loved ones. As with previous gift guides, my parameters are simple: gifts should generally be around or under $100, well-reviewed, and practical. I prefer to gift items I use and love every day that I can rave about as my recipient opens her gift. (I.e., no more cheeseboards.) See my full guide to gifts for women here.
My top tips for holiday decorating when you don’t have a trillion dollars to spend on flocked trees and life-size nutcrackers, or when you don’t have the inclination to outfit your entire home in a single year. How to build a meaningful collection of Christmas decorations.
Don’t tell me you’ve never daydreamed of arranging your entire family around your tree in coordinating Christmas jammies. Here, a guide to the most darling holiday pajamas for minis (and some for bigs, too).
My guide to the most stylish holiday cards out there, whether you want to prominently display your family photo or keep things pared down.
